The Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie & District is accepting business cards and brochures from member groups for distribution at the Sault Symphony’s upcoming Musicfest XV, also known as Beer, Bratwurst and Beethoven to take place June 8.

 Berkana Art Studio – 796 Queen St. E. is looking for innovative art in all medias.  Works must be original and suitable for presentation.  Contact 942-2610 or Berkana@shaw.ca

 The Alberta House/ Sault Area Arts Council is starting a 'special roof fund' to help raise funds for their roof which will need to be replaced in the next 3 years, costing an estimated $10, 000.

 The Cornwall Gallery and Art Centre at 503 Queen St. E. is offering various sized studio spaces.   These studios are an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive creative environment and to showcase one's works of art.  Contact Rod at 949-5400 for details  



 Art in the Park-ing Lot: This youth festival takes place at whitespace gallery (817 Queen St. E.) August 16, 2008, with an exhibit to hang August 16 – August 31. Interested youth (age 30 and under) are encouraged to contact the Arts Council to declare interest in exhibiting, screening video works, booking art performances, hosting activities/demonstrations/installations or working with a task force planning committee.


 The Challenge Quilt Contest is accepting Quilt submissions which relate to a book in some way (design or border area). The Contest is sponsored by Keeping the Piece Quilt Guild, the Bayliss Public Library, Friends of Bayliss Library and Chippewa County Historical Society and is an event related to “Great Michigan Reads – Ernest Hemingway’s Nick Adams Stories”.  Common Threads is accepting submissions form artists who would like to demonstrate art-making involving ‘threads’ (textile/ fibre art). A one-day Annual event will take place in the Station Mall on October 18. Contact Halina at 946-6280 or hp4arts@hotmail.com


 The Sault Theatre Workshop is accepting donations to their Garage Sale which will be Held June 21 and 22 at the Studio Theatre at 121 Pittsburg. Call 946-4081.


 The Sault Symphony Orchestra is accepting applications from artists and crafters interested in selling their work as vendors at this year’s Musicfest XV (Beer, Bratwurst and Beethoven) to take place June 8 at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion. Also accepting donations of items to their Silent Auction which will be held on site the day of the event.
