Anna Pelletier and Kevin Doble (Kevanna Studios)
Kevanna Studios was established on May 15, 1986 by Anna Pelletier, MPA, APPO, and Kevin Doble, LPPO. Originally located at 510 Queen Street East, the photography studio now resides at 388 Wellington Street East.
Anna Pelletier was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. After graduating from Mount St. Joseph high school, she went on to study and graduate from the Advanced Photography program at Fanshaw College in London, Ontario. It was here where she met and became engaged to her future husband and partner, Kevin.
Kevin Doble was born and raised in Sunderland, a small farming town in Southern Ontario. After graduating from Brock high school, he went on to study in the Advance Photography program at Fanshaw College. After graduating, Kevin found employment at a photography studio in Oshawa.
While in Oshawa, neither Anna Pelletier nor Kevin Doble were truly happy with their jobs, and decided to open up their own photography studio. After some research, they decided that Sault Ste. Marie would give them the best opportunity for success. |
Both Anna and Kevin have won numerous professional print awards at both the provincial and national levels. Recently, Anna won the 2000 award for "Master of Photographic Arts" from Professional Photographers of Canada. As well, Kevin picked up the 2000 award for "Professional Photographer of Northeastern Ontario", also from the Professional Photographers of Canada.
Kevanna Studios has been a strong addition to the community, with Kevin and Anna participating on various committees over the years. Anna has helped out with Over the Rainbow Children's Series, and First Down Syndrome Calendar, while Kevin has donated his time for the Sault Symphony Calendar and to the Arts Council as a former board member. Together, Kevanna Studios has donated photography for the Salvation Army, Easter Seals, Halloween House, and has given numerous gift certificates to charitable organizations holding raffles and auctions.
The Arts Council of Sault Ste. Marie and District wishes Kevanna Studios a wonderful 15th anniversary on May 15, 2001. They have been an irreplaceable addition to our community, and for that we are forever grateful. We wish them continued success in the future.
