ARTIST PROFILE

Don Charbonneau

Northern Ontario fishing and wilderness guide Don Charbonneau lives in Wawa with his wife Jude. He is also a musician whose music is inspired by the land he lives, loves and works on.

Don recorded his first album “Songs From The Coastline” in 2004 . This CD has a collection of 16 songs including the song “Devil’s Chair” which was made into a video.

His second CD “Wildwood/Through Tom’s Eyes” released in 2005 is a concept album dedicated to a great Canadian wilderness landscape artist Tom Thomson.
This album has drawn favorable attention and was praised by the curator of Canadian art Charles C. Hill as a “… great contribution to the culture of Tom Thomson…”

The music keeps coming – Don has this to say about his new “Northern Highway” CD.

… This highway has inspired many artists to write songs and poetry, and to photograph and paint the landscape.

I decided to write a collection of songs that reflects some of this northern highway's history.

The story begins in Agawa Bay and ends near Thunder Bay with a song dedicated to the memory of a great Canadian folk hero, Terry Fox, who left us with a million dreams…”
