Kt Antler – singer/acoustic guitarist/songwriter
Kt
is a young up and coming singer/songwriter. A native of Sault Ste.
Marie, this 17 year old “new country” music artist has
been singing to audiences since the age of 8. Recently she decided
to pick up the acoustic guitar and has been performing at local
venues including the Canada Day Celebrations, the Summer Concert
Series at the Bondar Pavillion, Algoma University and the Steamy
Bean ever since. You may also recognize Kt as the “anthem
girl” for many local events such as the Air Canada Cup National
Hockey Tournament, Sault Minor League Baseball Games, Soo Greyhound
Hockey, Lake Superior State University Hockey & Volleyball Games,
Sault Sabercat Football Games and the Laird Raceway.
Kt has been a performing artist with the Northern Ontario Country Music Association’s Great Northern Opry, singing with the Texas Street Band and Paul Chapman’s Band. She was the lead singer for the Case’s Jr. Country Allstar Band, performing at events such as Cornfest, ROTARYFEST, Bon Soo and numerous charity events, until January 2005 when she decided to go solo.
Kt has won numerous singing contests over the span of her career, including the Gladwin Eaglefest Karaoke Singing Contest, Goulais River Community Days Singing Contest and ROTARYFEST and Bon Soo Youth Singing Contests. She attended the Northern Ontario Country Music Open Singing Contest at North Bay’s Heritage Festival in 2003 & 2004 where she finished 6th and 9th, respectively, out of 30 contestants from all over Ontario. Kt was most recently the runner up for the Ogemaw County Fair Amateur Talent Search where she impressed judges and the audience alike with her cover of Rebecca Lynn Howard’s ballad “Forgive”.
Kt enjoys performing in Sault Ste. Marie musical theatre productions. She has had principal roles in Cinderella (The Fairy Godmother) & Guys & Dolls (Adelaide). Kt was a featured performer at the recent Sault Musical Comedy Guild’s “A Celebration of Youth” Broadway Revue and will be a member of the cast for the upcoming Guild production “Beauty & the Beast.”
Kt is planning to enter the recording studio this fall to cut her first original CD with songs she wrote and collaborated on with Mr. Greg Ryckman of the Soo. She plans to pursue a career in the music business specializing in entertainment management or law in Music City, USA,Nashville, Tennesee.
